A/R Aging Summary Report

Description: The A/R Aging Summary Report displays a summarized view of outstanding charges due insurance, due patient, due other, or at collections. The main table includes aging buckets, followed by the balance related to each charge status. See Appendix A for more information on additional charge statuses that are included into each column. 

This report also includes four (4) additional co-displays that reflect a summary of balances by payer type, current payer, total balance by payer priority (primary, secondary, tertiary) and total balances that includes credits.

Outstanding charge balance totals for each aging bucket are broken into 4 main columns comprising of the following charge statuses:

  1. Balance Due Insurance
    1. Send to Insurance via Clearinghouse
    2. Claim at Insurance
    3. User Print & Mail to Insurance
    4. Pending Insurance
    5. Appeal at Insurance
    6. Denied at Insurance
  2. Balance Due Patient
    1. Balance Due Patient
    2. Paid
    3. Pending Patient
  3. Balance Due Other
    1. On Hold
    2. Waiting for Review
    3. Pending Physician
  4. Balance at Collections
    1. Collections

Important Note: The aging report buckets displayed are always based on charge from date no matter what dates are chosen in the filter window. 

A/R Aging Summary with Payment Info Report

Description: The A/R Aging Summary with Payment Info Report displays a summarized view of outstanding charges broken up into aging buckets based on the charge from date. The main table includes the total amount of outstanding charges for each aging  range and also shows payments and adjustment totals related to the outstanding charges followed by the charge balance. This report also includes a co-display that reflects a summary of total balance by payer priority (primary, secondary, tertiary).

Limitations: Does not include deleted charges. 

Important Note: The aging buckets displayed on this report are always based on charge from date no matter what dates are chosen in the filter window. All payment and adjustment totals on this report are directly related to the outstanding charges that fall within the given filter criteria. Payments and adjustments for the given charges are totaled regardless of the date that they were entered or received. 

Activity Summary Report

Description: The Activity Summary Report shows a total of all charges & debits, insurance & patient payments and adjustments along with the change in A/R. This report also displays all of the above data separately. Data is displayed based on charge from date and payment/adjustment received date, or charge entered date and payment/adjustment entered date. This report is best used as a way to see a net total of outstanding charges and incoming payments/adjustments within a given time frame. 

Limitations: Does not include deleted charges, payments, or adjustments. Does not include incomplete charges or debits. Does not include information regarding account credits. 

Important Note: All charge totals shown and all payment/adjustment totals shown are not necessarily related to one another. That is, payments and adjustments may be included in the totals that are not related with charges included in the report's total. This is done as a way to show the net charge in A/R for the given time frame. 


Activity Summary by Charge Status Report

Description: The Activity Summary by Charge Status report shows a total of all charges, payments and adjustments based on charge from date and payment/adjustment received date, or charge entered date and payment/adjustment entered date. Additionally, the total charges and debits within the specified date ranges can be further restricted by status. This report is best used as a way to see a new total of outgoing charges and incoming payments/adjustments within a given time frame. 

Limitations: Does not include deleted charges, payments, or adjustments. Does not include incomplete charges or debits. Does not include information regarding account credits. 

Important Note: All charge totals shown and all payment/adjustment totals shown are not necessarily related to one another. That is, payments and adjustments may be included in the totals that are not related with charges included in the report's totals. This is done as a way to show the net charge in A/R for the given time frame. Also note that the charge status filter only applies to the charge and debit totals displayed on the report. All other totals are unaffected by the filter.


Activity Summary by Month Report

Description: The Activity Summary by Month report shows a total of all charges, payments(Insurance & Patient), and adjustments broken down by month for a given time frame. This report is best used as a way to see a net total of outgoing charges and incoming payments/adjustments for each month in a given date range. 

Limitations: Does not include deleted charges, payments, or adjustments. Does not include incomplete charges or debits. Does not include information regarding account credits.

Important Note: All charge totals shown and all payment/adjustment totals shown are not necessarily related to one another. That is, payments and adjustments may be included in the totals that are not related with charges included in the report's totals. Also note that totals shown for each month may not be representative of that entire month as the totals shown are based on the date range specified in the report's filters. If all days within a particular month fall within the specified date range, the total is representative of the entire month. 

Lag Time Report

Description: The Lag Time report shows every claim charge amount and charge balance, as well as the charge date and patient ID. Grand totals for charge amount and charge balance can be found at the bottom of the report. The report can be filtered by "charge from date" and includes co-displays showing the amounts by payer, payer type, practice, provider, and facility.

Limitations: Does not include deleted charges, payments, or adjustments. 


Payer Mix by Charge Amount Report

Description: The Payer Mix by Charge Amount report displays the  total charges and debits based on a date of service or date entered for each Payer Type, e.g. Medicare, Commercial Insurance Company, etc. 

Limitations: Does not include deleted or incomplete charges. 

Payer Mix by Paid Amount Report

Description: The Payer Mix by Payment Amount report displays the total revenue based on date entered for each Payer Type, e.g. Medicare, Commercial Insurance Company, etc. 

Limitations: Only includes insurance payments that have not been deleted.
