Specify your hours of operation

Using Specify Hours allows you to determine when appointments can be scheduled for the specific  resource. This is useful for creating a schedule that applies during exceptions to the default schedule such as vacations, leave of absences, etc. Specifying Hours will gray out the Resources schedule preventing appointments from being created unless the option to “Allow scheduling during unavailable times” is selected


  1. Select Appointments > Configuration… > Resources

  2. Use the Show All button to search for all appointment resources. Or use the Search field to further drill down your search.

  3. Select the appointment resource from the list.

  4. Place a check in the “Specify the hours of operation for this resource” box to access the options.

  5. Define the default hours appointments can be scheduled for this resource.

    If no hours are defined for the default hours then this resource will show no availability for appointments.

    1. Select Default Hours from the drop down menu.

    2. Under Resource Hours, click Add to add a row to the table.

    3. Use the drop-down menu to select the day & hours.

    4. Choose any office location or appointment types these hours should apply to.

  6. Add date specific exceptions to the default hours (such as vacations, leave of absences, etc.)

    1. Click Add next to specify hours drop-down menu.

    2. Set the Start and End Dates for this exception.

      When the duration entered for exceptions expires, the resource's Default Hours will resume.

    3. Under Resource Hours, click Add to add a row to the table.

    4. Use the drop-down to select the day & hours.

    5. Choose any office location or appointment types these hours should apply to.

  7. Click Save.
