Enable Import

To use the File Import option, the feature must be activated and configured within Interface Settings. 

Who Can Use This Feature? 

Users with the Import setting set to Allow.


  1. Select Interface > Settings.

  2. Click the Edit button next to the File Import.

    1. Use the drop-down menu to set the Interface Status to active.

      File import is turned off by default and must be enabled for the field to be visible. Activating the File Import option must be done by an Admin/Auth Rep with the import permission.

    2. Select your File Import Interface configurations.

      1. Allow interface to update existing patient information (address, insurance info, etc)? New patients will still be created as needed regardless of this setting.

        1. Select Yes if you want the interface message to update information on a patient's record within CollaborateMD.  

      2. Allow interface to archive patient insurance information? Insurance information will still be updated as needed regardless of this setting.

        1. Select Yes if you want the interface message to archive insurance information on a patient's record within CollaborateMD.  

      3. Set charge pricing based on unit price received in interface message? By default, the pricing information within the message is ignored and the charge amount is determined based on the pricing information in CollaborateMD (code default price or fee schedule price). .
        1. Select Yes if you want the interface message to update the price information on a charge amount based on the charge pulled from the interface message. 

  3. Click Save.
