Apply Credit is used to view and apply account credit towards outstanding charges or payment plans. Credits are funds that the patient or payer have paid, but have not yet been applied to a specific claim or charge. You will have the option to post an account credit to an outstanding Charge Balance or an outstanding Payment Plan Balance.
You will only be able to use this page if the patient or their payer has an account credit due to them and depending on whether or not the patient has any outstanding charges or an active payment plan, you will be presented with the option to pick where to apply the credits. If the patient has a Payment Plan Credit you will have the option to post that to an outstanding payment plan or apply the payment plan credits to a charge.
